I've completed our meet schedule for the fall at this point. Barring any changes from the meets themselves this is what we will do. Please make sure you don't have anything scheduled on these dates. I've avoided SAT/ACT testing, Labor Day, and Homecoming weekend. During the September break I've given everyone Saturday-Tuesday to do what they like but then we need to meet for practice. We will have fewer races this year than last but the quality of all of our meets has improved. One thing to pay attention to is the County Meet on September 6. This is far earlier than in the past. With this being our first major meet of the season and it falling so early we
need to place a high priority on doing our work in the summer so we come into the season in as good of shape as possible. We've had good attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays but I know there are still many out there who are not showing up. Please make every effort to attend all of the summer workouts Monday-Friday. The schedule is also included in the google calendar posted on the web pagelhsxc.org if you want to go there as well.

- July 12-17 Cross Country Camp. The deadline for this is fast approaching. Please get your registration taken care of sooner rather than later. This will be an awesome trip.
- July 28-Aug 1 Practice shifts to Lassiter all week from 7-9pm. All athletes are expected to attend starting now.
- Aug 4-6 Tryouts. Practice will be at Lassiter all week again from 7-9pm. The roster will be posted on Thursday morning 8/7 online.Uniforms to new members will be handed out on Friday.
- Aug 9: 8:30am Team Pictures, Work Party and Team Picnic at Lassiter
- Aug 23: Early Bird Invitational at Clinton Nature Preserve
- Sep 6: Cobb County Championship Meet @ Cobb County Corps Property
- Sep. 19-21 Mt. Dew University of Florida Invitational Gainesville, FL. The top 24 boys and 24 girls will attend this meet. We will leave on Friday morning, race Saturdaymorning, and then go to Jacksonville Beach for the rest on Saturday, Returning on Sunday
- Sep 27: Darlington Invitational, Rome GA JV Only, No Top 7
- Oct. 3-4 Jesse Owens Invitational, Oakville Indians Mound, AL Top 7 Only
- Oct. 18: Reebok Coach Wood Invitational, Gainesville, GA
- Nov. 1: Region Championship Meet Everyone runs at this meet. There are JV races at Region.
- Nov. 8: State Championship Meet
One note about camp. This will be a great experience for everyone. So far we have had people signing up but I have heard that many are on the fence. I'm sure many are waiting until just before the deadline to send in their forms and checks. If I could get an rsvp from all who plan on attending that would be great so I can start to plan.
